What’s new for DYNASTY League Baseball Powered By Pursue the Pennant in 2020?

Jamie and I have been burning the midnight oil to bring you new features and play modes for DYNASTY League Baseball Online Powered By Pursue the Pennant. We know you are going to love it!

NEW! Play in Apple Mac and Windows OS in all modern browsers
In late January of 2020, the new Unity client was released replacing Silverlight allowing you to play in a brand new updated interface for Apple Mac OS in Safari, Chrome and Firefox browsers in addition to Chrome, Firefox and Edge Chromium in Windows OS. You can also play in Chromebook in Android OS.

Greatest Teams Leagues (button)
Choose your favorite Greatest Team and Pursue the Pennant in a multi-player 162 game season 12 team public league. Invite your friends and/or meet new friends in AL or NL.

Season Replay League (button)
Choose your favorite season and team and Pursue the Pennant with actual MLB schedules, opening day rosters and transactions. Play solitaire or invite friends to be in your replay league with you.

Create Private Draft League (button)
Build your DYNASTY! Commissioner Tools allow you to create your multi-player private draft league to set up league, edit rosters and build your schedule. Leagues migrate to the next season player cards automatically.

USA TODAY Fantasy Sports Editor Steve Gardner interviewed me for feature stories in USA TODAY and Sports Weekly:

SG: So tell me about this new League play mode that you’ve moved up to release on opening day. How is it different from what you’ve had for people to play online previously?

MC: What makes the Online version really unique is the multi-player aspect so that has always been the main focus. It isn’t that you have not been able to play solitaire, but there hasn’t been a real easy way to jump into a solitaire season simulation with actual MLB matching schedule and actual transactions.

The unique aspect is that you have the option to add friends that you can play live multi-player in your Season Replay League. We didn’t think it was possible, but Jamie figured how to do it. No other simulation has the option to play live multi-player games within your Season Replay League.

The new Season Replay League automatically brings up an actual matching MLB season schedule – you don’t build a schedule it is just there ready for you to start playing. Your schedule advances day by day and not series to series like in a Private Multi-Player Draft League.

The Private Draft League Commissioner tool schedule builder is still there, but that is designed for multi-player draft leagues that need a custom schedule. Originally we planned on launching the Season Replay League play mode later in the year, but it is now live.

Actual historical lineups vs. LH and RH that you find in Series also carry over to the Season Replay Leagues.

NEW! 2020 season player cards

SG: So essentially, the new Season Replay play mode has 2019 player cards, but with the players on their 2020 teams? And people can set up leagues to play this season while there are no games? Give us a little more on how exciting that can be.

MC: There are opening day default rosters with players on their new 2020 season teams. Most of the players are based on their 2019 season player cards, but with a few tweaks. For example, we took out some Use ratings for players like Bo Bichette who project to start and play the entire season instead of being a minor league call-up.

NEW! 30 TOP 2020 Rookie Player Cards
To supplement the veteran players, 30 TOP 2020 Rookie player cards (one from each team based on selections from MLB Pipeline) are being included based on ZiPS projections and MLB comps. Player ratings were projected using minor league data and Statcast 20-80 scouting reports.

Each day of the season you can choose to play your teams game live or click sim button to sim the game based on your computer manager profile. If you play live the other games for that day are all simmed by clicking the “sim all” button and then you move onto the next day.

Each day your scheduled game shows up on your team page and you click the JOIN button to play. During the 2020 season, you can make all GM and Managerial moves as you progress through the entire 2020 schedule and view stats, standings, leaders, box scores, game summaries and game logs. At the end of 162 game season, your team may advance to the playoffs, in which case you will also be able to play the complete Division Series, Championship Series and World Series. Even if your team does not advance to the playoffs you will still see the playoffs results in your simulation.

SG: Are you going to list the rookies somewhere? Facebook group? Blog? I know people will be anxious to see those cards.

JAM+ pitchers have additional situation ability in that they use the RR grey situation STRIKEOUTS results instead of blue normal situation 1B and 2B results on
those two result lines in jam situations.

Clutch/JAM definition: Occurs whenever tying or go ahead run is on base or
at bat from 8th inning on, or at anytime when there are runners in scoring position with two outs.
NOTE: Game balancing reversion to original Pursue the Pennant rule.
